  • Superman is a hero in the DC Universe created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. Superman is considered by many as the most important of all superheroes, quintessential to the genre and seminal in raising its overall cultural importance and prominence. After his first appearance in Action Comics #1, Superman quickly gained popularity and was featured in radio programs, televisions shows, cartoons, films, and various other forms of media.
  • Superman's Origin

    Superman is the last surviving person from the planet Krypton. When the planet of was on the verge of destruction, the infant Kal-El's parents bundled him into a rocket bound for earth in hopes of saving his young life. The rocket landed in Smallville, Kansas, on the farm of a childless old couple, Ma and Pa Kent. They raised the child as their son, Clark Kent. Discovering his powers by the time he was a teen, Kent moved to Metropolis (a fictional city modeled on Chicago), where he began his dual life as Clark Kent, mild-mannered reporter for the Daily Planet newspaper and Superman, the caped crime fighter.
