Superhero Movie Reviews
- The Hollywood Reporter: Superhero Movie Review
- "The gags arrive at the usual breakneck pace, albeit mostly producing quiet chuckles rather than belly laughs."
- Cinematical: Superhero Movie Review
- "It's very broad, very silly, very episodic, and frequently very sloppy, but (and here's a big but) Superhero Movie succeeds over many of its cousins for one simple reason: It's pretty funny."
- SCI FI Weekly: Superhero Movie Review
- "a welcome throwback to the Airplane! days, in which there is a sustained narrative at center stage with only a few detours into skit-schizophrenia."
- Film School Rejects (B+): Superhero Movie Review
- "Instead of making a hodge-podge of pop culture references with a string of jokes relying on randomness and short attention spans, writer/director Craig Mazin puts together a sophomoric yet hilarious send-up of the recent superhero movies we've seen over the past ten years."
- E!Online (D-): Superhero Movie Review
- "What's supposed to be a spoof of all the comic-book movies clogging theaters turns out to be an unfunny retread of the first Spider-Man."
- TV Guide (0/4): Superhero Movie Review
- "riter-director and Scary Movie vet Craig Mazin's script is so devoid of anything even remotely funny that the movie is more a cheap rip-off of Ted Raimi's Spider-Man franchise than a spoof."
- The A.V. Club (C+): Superhero Movie Review
- "Nobody expects spoofs like this to be funny or clever, let alone satirical: It's enough if they aren't soul-crushing or egregiously awful. By those exceedingly lenient standards, Superhero Movie is a rousing success."
- IGN (.5/5): Superhero Movie Review
- "Ultimately, the worst offense that Superhero Movie commits is being unfunny."
- Metromix Chicago: Superhero Movie Review
- "prefers physical comedy over idiotic references to other movies, so it's consistently, harmlessly stupid rather than soul-crushingly annoying. And these days, that seems like an achievement."
- OC Weekly: Now Playing: Superhero Movie
- "Superhero Movie, which is only Mazin's second directorial effort, is everything his first film was not: predictable, flat, name-dropping, tragically unhip, and likely to make a decent amount of cash."
- The Hollywood Reporter: Superhero Movie Review
