Superfudge

  • Superfudge is the second book of the Fudge series by Judy Blume.
  • Plot Synopsis

Much to the chagrin of pre-teen Peter Hatcher, his family moves from New York City to Princeton, New Jersey so his mom--who is expecting--can study art history, and his dad can write a book.

Peter thinks of running away, fearing that the new baby will be just like his irritating little brother, Fudge. But despite his misgivings, Peter meets a new friend, Alex Santo, and also takes an interest in a girl named Joanne McFadden. Fudge, meanwhile, becomes occupied with his new friend, Daniel, but still finds time to cause mischief.

In one of book's funniest moments, Fudge successfully fools Peter into waking up early and rushing to school on a Saturday.

Luckily for Peter, the baby, Tamara Roxanne Hatcher ("Tootsie"), turns out to be nothing like Fudge, and after a year in Princeton, the parents announce the family would move back to New York.
