Super Troopers is a 2001 comedy about a group of Vermont state troopers whose routine of playing pranks on the people they pull over is broken when they are forced to investigate an actual crime. Conceived and written by the Broken Lizard sketch comedy troupe and directed by member Jay Chandrasekhar, the film received poor reviews upon its release but has gone on to achieve "Cult" status for its unique brand of slacker humor.
