The game features side-scrolling gameplay and a cinematic story. In The Subspace Emissary, you take on the role as various Nintendo Characters throughout the campaign.

Stage One - Midair Stadium
- Cutscene - Cinematic that shows Zelda and Peach about to watch a match between Kirby and Mario.
- You will then have the option to choose the character you'd like to fight as.
- Defeat the other character in a simple one on one Brawl.
- Cutscene - Shot of Pit watching the fight from a distant location. Mario and Kirby bow to the cheering crowd when suddenly, the sky darkens and a giant airship is revealed. It sends out creatures, called Primids, who are prepared for battle. Zelda and Peach approach the middle of the stadium, ready to fight.
- You'll then have the option to fight with all four characters. Just choose the order in which you'd like them to appear.
- You'll fight a slew or Primids. Once you knock out thirty, you've won.
- Cutscene - An enemy called the Ancient Minister flies towards you. He releases two robots armed with a giant ticking bomb. Mario attempts to save the day by diffusing the bomb but gets knocked out. Kirby then watches in horror as Peach and Zelda are capture by Petey Piranha.
- Boss Battle - In this fight you will be using Kirby. The goal is to break one of his cages open.
- Note: The cage that you break open will have the character immediately available to you. The one you leave imprisoned will only be available later on.
- Petey has two attacks; He hits you with one of his cages, and jumps on you. Move out of his way when he leaps and attack the cages when he gives you an opening. Halfway through his health, Petey will turn red, increasing his attack speed. After you defeat him one of his captors will be released.
- Cutscene - Wario moves in and fires a special gun at the captor in the cage you did not open. That character is turned into a trophy. Wario takes it and leaves. Kirby and whichever character you freed, escape the bomb that blows up the stadium.

Stage Two - Skyworld
- Cutscene - Pit watches the stadium get blown up. He gets a bow from Palutena and leaps into the distance.
- The stage starts as your character falls through the sky. There are green and orange cubes along the way that you should grab for extra items/completion percentage. Once you get to the bottom, just head over to the door and go through it by pressing the controller up.
- Cutscene - Pit sees the giant ship in the sky as it sends more Primids towards you.
- Use Pit to fight the Primids. After the fight you will head right, fighting more enemies and avoiding drops. You will come across a giant bomb enemy. The weak spot is its head. Just wait for his swings to pass and attack him. Destroying him will trigger a door to appear. Go inside.
- Cutscene - Pit revives Mario.
- Character select between Mario and Pit.
- Your character will drop through the clouds. Try to avoid the enemies until you hit a platform. Then move right, fighting whatever enemies you encounter and moving past moving pillars, until you reach the door.
- The next area will slowly move upwards. Be careful, if you are caught too far at the bottom you will be killed. Keep up pace, jumping on the clouds and ascending quickly until you reach the cube at the top. Then jump back down and head through the door.
- Move to the right, past the enemies you encounter. You will then encounter a boss. Stay in the middle of its guns which will fire at you. Between his short bullet bursts, attack him until he's destroyed. Go in the door to complete the stage.
- Cutscene - Mario and pit watch the ship escape. They see another ship chasing it.

Stage Three - Sea of Clouds
- Cutscene - Kirby and the freed character are being chased by a ship.
- Character select screen will then ask you to pick one of them.
- Once the stage begins you are only required to run to the right to complete it.
- Cutscene - The small ship seen earlier takes on the larger one. The ship barrels towards your characters, knocking them away.
- Choose your character.
- Move right past the enemies, breaking blocks along the way. Move down, then to the left, then down again, and lastly to the right where you'll find a door.
- Once through the door move to the right until you get to a portal where enemies will be released. Defeat the enemies and the portal and continue moving.
- Move left, avoiding rocks ( look for the falling dirt, to find out where they land). Another portal will open up, destroy it.
- Now head right avoiding the rolling rocks until you reach the mini boss with the axes again. Defeat him in the same fashion and enter the door to complete the level.

Stage Four - The Jungle
- Cutscene - Donkey Kong is introduced as he fights enemies in the jungle. Diddy Kong steps in and helps Donkey Kong out as the two make their way to more bananas.
- You will then be given the choice between Donkey and Diddy Kong.
- Move right, avoiding or fighting the enemies in your path.
- TIP: True to Mario fashion, the Koopahs need to be jumped on twice to send them careening into other enemies.
- Jump in the barrels on the edge and let it blast you to the next platform. Repeat this once more to keep elevating.
- You will then reach a floating barrel. The strategy here is to jump in the barrel and when it lines up with another barrel, blast yourself out to enter it. It's all about the timing here.
- After this, move through the door to the next area.
- After moving to the right you'll find a bumper. Hitting it will send it along its path, killing whatever it encounters. They'll also break item blocks.
- Continue up the platforms .
- TIP: At the top and to the left there is a bumper. Hit it and drop down to reveal a green box. Grab it move to the right and hit the next bumper and get a trophy.
- Moving up, climb the ladder and hit the bumper to reveal a door. Enter it.
- You'll find two green boxes you can grab. Once you do, go back in the door.
- Head right and get on the rising platform, moving through enemies and bumpers. You'll soon come to an area where you'll be fighting multiple enemies.
- TIP: Try to use the bumpers to take out an enemies on the rail
- Move to the barrel and then to the door.
- This stage will be rising. Fight enemies on your way up.
- TIP: A trophy will appear on the right on a ledge. To get it, simply jump on the ledge then jump back.
- Enter the door at the top.
- You'll be falling down in this area. Try staying to your left.
- You will enter a door in which you can grab two cubes. Once you do, you can leave back through the door you came in.
- You will continue falling down and face some normal sized enemies and some giant ones. Defeat them all the same way and a door will open.
- Cutscene - Diddy and Donkey Kong go up against Bowser. Donkey Kong hits Diddy out of the way and takes the blast, turning him into a trophy.

Stage Five - The Plain
- Choose your character, then move to the right of the stage.
- You will then come to a giant breakable wall.
- Tip: Move to the top of the wall and head right. On the highest section of the wall and to the right, attack up and you a secret Orange box will drop. Grab it and head right.
- A wall will then start pushing you to the right. Make sure as it does to jump over any pitfalls.
- Once you get to the end drop down through the pit breaking any blocks in your way.
- Land, then head to the right, defeating any enemies you see until you get to the door.
- Once you're in the new area, jump on the moving platform. Each time it stops some enemies will manifest, defeat them and the platform will continue moving. Once you get to the end a cutscene will start.
- Cutscene - Ancient Minister flies past Mario and Pit with a bomb. They attempt to grab him but both miss.

Stage Six - The Lake
- Cutscene - Diddy approaches a small crashed ship. A giant creature called Rayquaza emerges from the water and looks to attack Diddy. Suddenly StarFox interferes and saves Diddy.
- Character select between Diddy and Fox.
- Boss Battle - Close combat is dangerous with this boss as it will do a spin attack, make sure if you need to get in close, to get out quickly. This boss's mouth glows before it shoots at you; Just dodge its attacks. It will also dive into the ground and emerge under you. Be aware of a crack in the ground and move out of the way.
- Cutscene - Diddy drags Fox into the distance.
- Character select.
- Move to the right. Head into the door you see.
- Destroy the blocks on your right and move.
- Drop down and go inside the blue door.
- You will be attacked by flying creatures. If you dodge at the right time they will get stuck in the ground. It's then when you can easily kill them. Move to the right and drop down the opening, entering the door.
- You are now in a dark room. There is a bomb box at the top middle portion of your section. Attack upwards and it will destroy your surrounding blocks. Head up, move left and enter the blue door.
- Move to the right, break the wall and walk in the door.
- Avoid the red door, instead go in the yellow one.
- Head right, defeating enemies and hit the bomb cube, then go through the blue door.
- Move right and up the opening at the top, hit the switch (This will unlock that first red door).
- Head back to the left to the yellow door but do not go in. Instead go in the red door on top of it.
- You should now be in a molten core room. Enter the yellow door and kill the sleeping enemy.
- Enter the red door. You are now on a raft, moving down the river. Fight off the enemies that approach you. You will get to a floating door, hop inside it.
- TIP: Destroy the blocks using the bumpers in this room and grab the orange box towards the left.
- Exit the room and get back on the raft until it rides to its end.
- Move to the right and jump in the barrel. You will be flung into a pit where you will face off with Dark Bowser. Defeat him in 1 v1 Brawl style.
- Cutscene - Bowser turns into a trophy but it disappears. Suddenly Diddy and Fox avoid a shot from the real Bowser. The two run off.

Stage Seven - The Ruined Zoo
- Cutscene - You appear in a run down area and see Lucas about to be attacked my Primids. In addition, a huge Porky statue goes after him. Lucas takes off.
- The statue chases you. Your main job is to just run. Do your best to avoid any enemies and obstacles in the way. Be sure to hit the levers so that the gates open for you. The statue will temporarily seem deterred as he falls in the water. He quickly remerges and continues the chase. Continue until you get to the end.
- Cutscene - Ness rescues Lucas from the statue. He destroys the statue and out comes Porky.
- This fight is simple. Porky will raise his leg and unleash a vicious attack on either side of him. He shoots out homing energy beams that you need to avoid. He also summons miniature versions of himself that explode around you. Do your best to avoid them from a distance.
- Ness and Lucas run into Wario. He transforms Ness into a trophy as Lucas takes off. He then runs into the Pokemon Trainer.
- Character selection screen between Lucas and Pokemon Trainer.
- Move right making sure to jump over traps. Defeat the enemies you encounter until you get to a large hut. Enter it.
- Open the gate by hitting the button. You will run into a cloning enemy. The longer you wait to kill them the more they multiply so try to take care of them quickly. Move to the top right and enter the door.
- Continue moving right, using the jump spring to head over the wall on the right. Defeat the enemies and continue to the right past the spikes, to end the stage.
- Cutscene - Pokemon Trainer and Lucas take off into the distance.

Stage Eight - The Battlefield Fortress
- Cutscene - two robots set off a time bomb in a ravaged field. Marth appears to be watching the explosion from a distance. The ancient Minister brings a second bomb and some enemies with him. Marth prepares for battle.
- Move to the right and down the stairs. Once at the bottom, head left, taking out sword throwing enemies.
- Once you beat them, move down the right corridor and down the stairs. Climb a ladder and grab the key.
- Note: Any attack performed with the key in hand will cause you to lose it and have to go back and get another.
- Use it to unlock the door nearby and enter.
- Move left and down the road. Continue moving down and past the patrols in the hallway until you find a red door. Enter it.
- Use a special attack to hit the lever on the other side of the gate. Head left taking out the enemies in your way. Avoid the switch on the ground as it will just throw some more enemies at you. Get to the red door and enter it.
- Cutscene - Meta Knight enters the fray and battles Marth. They then join forces and turn their attention to the spawning Primids around them.
- Character select between Marth and Meta Knight.
- You will have to defeat 30 Primids just like before.
- After this, head left, defeating more approaching enemies. You will meet a new mini boss; kill it by knocking his helmet off and hitting him in the head, then continue left.
- The stage will then begin scrolling, just move with it to avoid death until you get to a red door you can open.
- Fall down and enter the mine cart. It will then start moving, killing enemies in its path for you. When an exclamation point warning appears you need to quickly jump out.
- TIP: Enter the door to get an Orange box, then head back out.
- Weed through more enemies with another mine cart until you get to a huge hole in the floor. Time your jump with the mine cart so that you can leap out to the other side. Head through the red door and enter it. Move to the right.
- Cutscene - Marth and Meta Knight chase down the ancient Minister. Ike enters the scene and knocks the bomb off the minister.
- Character select now gives you Ike to choose from.
- Head right taking on enemies. You will encounter a new one who continues to grow in size. He is invulnerable to attacks while he gets bigger. Kill him and head right.
- Cutscene - The three, watch the Ancient Minister take off.
- Bonus Cutscene - King Dedede knocks out a distracted Luigi, turning him into a trophy. Then he and his minions jump Wario as he passes by, stealing his trophies.

Stage Nine - The Forest
- Link is shown holding the Master sword. He walks by a sleeping Yoshi as the giant ship flies by.
- Character select between Yoshi and Link.
- The stage begins. Head to your right, taking out Primids along the way.
- Move past the trees and get the green box in the air.
- TIP: Drop and enter the door on the left. Get the orange and green box and go back through the door.
- Scale the trees as you move right until you get to the door.
- You will encounter a creature that attempts to move under you and lift you up into the sky, killing you. Either avoid or kill him.
- Continue right to the spring that will take you over the giant cliff.
- At the top, continue right until you reach the blocks. Destroy them, using the bumpers for help. Be careful not to destroy the blocks that you need to stand/jump on.
- Continue killing enemies until you find a switch. You then need to quickly ascend the ladder. Break open the blocks in your way. Head to the right and range shot another pink bumper. Continue heading to the right and jump on the spring to get to another platform.
- Defeat the last of the enemies and head right, leaving the stage.
- Cutscene - Link and Yoshi follow the ship.
- Bonus Cutscene - An inconspicuous box sits on the ship deck.

Stage Ten - The Research Facility
- Cutscene - Zero Suit Samus breaks through a panel on the ceiling.
- Move right until you reach the door. Enter it.
- Move onto the elevator, be careful of the robots that will try stopping you. Get on the elevator and press up to move up a floor.
- When it stops, head right and jump over a pit. Defeat the enemies and get the Orange Box.
- Head back to the elevator and go up again. Move to the right and enter the door.
- Cutscene - Zero suit Samus rescues Pikachu from a torture device.
- Character select either Pikachu or Samus
- Move through the hallways, defeating the robots until you get to the door on the right.
- Get to a group of cyclical moving platforms in a room. Move to the bottom right hallway. Move down a ladder and through the door.
- Move right and defeat the enemies in your way, until you get to the hallway.
- Continue right and grab the key.
- Move left and take the path that leads up. Unlock the door.
- Move up the platforms and move to the right hallway. Grab the key.
- Move left, unlock the door and hit the switch.
- Move back to the right and use the launcher.
- TIP: Grab the orange box.
- Fall down into the pit and move to the left until you reach the door.
- Move up the ladder and head left to a rising platform. Move up and jump off to the right, following the hallway until you reach the door.
- Enter the door and jump on the platform. Kill any enemies that try knocking you off. After destroying them a switch will appear. A bridge of platforms will form to your left.
- Jump across them to the door, and exit it.
- Move left to the moving floor and take the upper left hall. Climb the ladder and go through the door at the top.
- Go right, avoiding or killing the enemies in your path. Long range the explosive enemies and the metal Primids. They have more resilience and resistances than the normal ones but are killed similarly.
- Move right and go through the door.
- Cinema - Zero suit Samus finds her suit.

Stage Eleven - The Lake Shore
- Cutscene- Bowser's turns which ever character you freed into a Dark version of themselves. The gun is then destroyed.
- Character selection screen.
- Fight the dark version of whoever you released.
- Cutscene - Whichever person you freed watches as a trophy falls. They are approached by an enemy.
- A two fight against the enemy that approached you.
- Cutscene - The character you beat will be turned into a trophy and scooped up by King Dedede.
- Move right until you reach a platform that will elevate you. Defeat the enemies that approach you.
- After the battle, the platform will descend. Once it's done, move right and enter the door.
- The board scrolls up again. Fight or avoid the enemies in your way and keep up with the pace. Once you reach the end head through the exit on the right.
- Cutscene - King Dedede's car is parked outside the cave. Your characters follow him inside.
- Character select.
- Head right and downward. Defeat the enemies and jump into the mine cart. Once again, jump when the exclamation point comes up.
- Continue right and move up. At the top, move right past the moving lava pillars.
- Head right and grab the key. Use it to unlock the door all the way at the top.
- Move right and destroy the blocks in your way, including the exploding ones. Continue right and defeat waves of enemies. After you can continue, move right towards the red door. Grab the orange and green box and head through the yellow door.
- Kirby watches the large ship and elsewhere, Ganondorf watches Bowser through a nearby monitor.

Step Twelve - The Path to Ruins
- A Charizard ascends into the sky. The Pokemon Trainer and Lucas head in his direction to capture him.
- Move to the right, fighting enemies. Beat them and head right to the breakable blocks.
- Break your way through them and continue until you reach the elevator. Get on and head up.
- The enemy at the top is easily avoidable. If you do want to kill them, attack them until you get to the head. Destroying the head will destroy the enemy.
- Move to the right and across falling platforms until you reach the cave.
- Move right, making sure to weave past fireballs.
- The switches you encounter will shut the fire geysers off.
- Move right and head downwards. You will encounter a room full of enemies that are easily destroyed.
- Move right and hit the bumpers to take out more enemies, until you reach the floating platforms.
- Move to the right, to some more platforms. These will rise when you get on them. Beat the enemies and move to the right.
- Get to the elevator, move to the top, go right and enter the door.
- Wario finds Pokemon trainer and Lucas. Lucas prepares for the fight.
- Character select between Pokemon Trainer and Lucas.
- Defeat Wario.
- Cutscene - Wario becomes a trophy as Lucas and Pokemon Trainer take off.
- Bonus cutscene - King Dedede gets knocked out by a falling ceiling. Bowser and friends drop through and notice a trophy.

Stage Thirteen - The Cave
- Cutscene - Your characters enter a hole in a nearby wall.
- Head right, being careful of falling rocks. Continue down the slope, making sure to hurry as the ceiling will come down on you eventually.
- Up the ladder and to the right. Defeat the enemies you encounter and continue right, being cautious of the falling roof.
- Drop down through the platforms and continue on to the right.
- The floor will then rise; Stay to the left.
- Continue right, being cautious of the roof and floor.
- After it moves up, move to the right and head down, making your way to the bottom.
- Go up the ladder and onto the moving platforms, making your jumps through their openings. Reach the end and head through the door.
- Take the key and avoid the traps as you continue moving forward. Reach the door and move to the right.
- Press the switch and shut off the gas.
- When you move up the passage you will encounter flooring that drops if you stand on it too long.
- Jump as to not fall to your death. Move left and you will encounter enemies. Defeat them and continue left and up the walkway.
- Hit the switch to shut the gas off. As soon as you do, the platform will break apart. Continue up before it does.
- Move right and down to press the switch to turn off the gas.
- Move up and hit the next switch. Be careful, the ceiling will start to collapse once again.
- Move right and hit another switch.
- Take on the enemies that come for you. Make sure to take them out before the gas returns.
- Move right across the platforms.
- When you get to the Ferris wheel, ride it until it takes you to the top right. Jump on the moving platform.
- Continue right and up the slope. Rocks will roll at you; use the ceiling holes to find safety from them.
- Move to the top, defeating or avoiding the enemies and approach the two doors.
- TIP: The red door will get you an orange box.
- The yellow door will clear the stage.
- Cutscene - Bowser and Pit have an altercation. Bowser makes an escape with his trophy in hand, but drops a badge. Kirby stares at the badge.
- Bonus Cutscene - The Ancient Minister sets off another bomb. Ganondorf watches this on monitors and see the Master Hand. The Hand points at Ganon, who replies with a wicked smile.

Stage Fourteen - The Ruins
- Choose between Lucas or the Pokemon Trainer.
- Move left towards the elevator and press the down button.
- Move to the mine car and ride through some enemies.
- Move right past the wall. If the door shuts on you before you get there just head back left and hit the switch, opening it up again.
- Plow through any enemies you see and avoid the falling ceiling platforms. Continue moving to the right.
- Move across the spiked area sandwiching you. Try to get to a safe spot with no spikes as you make your way past them.
- Move to the top of the area, hit the switch and open the door.
- Get on the square and ride it to the right. Move with it to the right and hop down.
- You will see three switches. Hit the one farthest to your right. Drop down and move into the door before you fall and die.
- This area scrolls to the right. Dodge enemies to stay ahead of the room.
- You'll see a mine cart. I would not recommend getting inside as it will shoot you past the screen.
- You'll eventually reach an elevator. Move down, taking on enemies you approach. Avoid the crystal gauntlet on the side of the walls, they hurt.
- A ledge will appear on your left, jump in it and drop down to avoid the crystals on the right. Then jump back on to the large platform and take it all the way down. Then move right.
- Cutscene - Pokemon trainer gets an Ivysaur trophy, unlocking him for you.
- Move right, beating the enemies in your way. You'll come to two switches that you must activate quickly to open the door. Move through, hitting all the switches you see and opening the gates. If you do get stuck behind a gate just drop through the ground and you will respawn somewhere safe.
- Continue past switches and defeat the enemies in your way.
- Cutscene - Charizard is caught as a trophy, giving you access to him.

Stage Fifteen - The Wilds
- Marth, Meta Knight, and Ike chase after an enemy in the desert.
- Move right, dealing with the enemies in your way. The screen will start scrolling right, keep up.
- Move down until you leave the cave, at this point you will get wind resistance. Move over the pillars.
- Continue moving, dodging the bombs that come at you. Move up the platforms and fight an enemy. Beat on it until he sends his claw at you. Destroy the claw. When his green part reveals itself nuke it.
- Leap off the edge to the right and dash across the falling floor.
- Enter the red door.
- Move right, defeating enemies and avoiding falling platforms along the way.
- Get to the edge and the screen will move down. Follow along, being careful of the falling rocks.
- Take care of the enemies at the bottom and move right.
- Use the barrels to propel yourself to the right. When you approach three barrels, use the one on the furthest right.
- TIP: Go in the door and get a number of green boxes and one orange one.
- Leave and get shot out to a platform. Get back in the door you came from.
- Move to the right, through the opening until you reach the door.
- Cutscene - Your characters approach the enemy.
- Boss Battle - This guy is powerful but slow. When he faces the screen, do your best to dodge his attacks. He will try to jump on you and roll you over as a tank. Lastly, avoid his melee attacks.

Stage Sixteen - The Ruined Hall
- Lucas and the Pokemon Trainer prepare for battle with the boss you just fought.
- Boss Battle - Same strategy as before.
- Lucas and Pokemon Trainer are grabbed by the boss. After escaping a self destruct from the boss, Lucas and Pokemon Trainer drop away and get rescued by Meta Knight.

Stage Seventeen - The Wilds
- Cutscene - Pit attacks the Ancient Minister and chases him down with his group.
- Move right, using the bumpers to destroy enemies and blocks in your way. The stag will begin scrolling, keep up.
- Move to the floating platform and defeat the enemies that appear.
- Head right and use the elevator to take you up. Once there, take a right and walk in the door.
- Move onto the platform which will lower you. Then move right, avoiding the falling spikes. Also, be careful of the wind that tries pushing you into the spike pit.
- Defeat the enemies that pop up and move right, hopping on the platforms. As you progress, the walls will begin closing in on you. Continue past this area, breaking rocks in your way and avoiding the last few enemies.
- Cutscene - Link and Mario fight the Ancient Minister. A few R.O.B.'s activate a bomb. Our heroes try stopping them but fail. The R.O.B.'s set the bomb off, with our heroes narrowly escaping.

Stage Eighteen - The Swamp
- Character select between Fox and Diddy.
- Move right and up the ladder. Jump on the leaf with the wind under it.
- Allow it to fall and move into the low opening.
- TIP: Find an orange box to your right.
- Hit the block to get out.
- Move through either path, jumping across the platforms and leaves until you reach the door.
- Move right, avoiding the enemies and wind.
- Hop between ladders and move right. Defeat some more flying enemies.
- The screen will begin scrolling up. Move onto the ladders, avoiding the spikes. Destroy the blocks and head upward. Take a right and enter the door.
- Cutscene - Diddy is struck by the trophy gun, turning him into a dark version of himself. Bowser reveals himself and fights Fox who is then aided by Falco. You must now fight a huge version of Diddy Kong.
- Beat him brawl style, making sure to watch his air smashes.
- Cutscene - Diddy takes Falco and Fox with him.
- Character select.
- Move into the mine cart. Jump out before it crashes the move to the right.
- Use the launchers as you continue right, destroying enemies along the way. Move into the barrels and fire yourself to the right. Get to the red door and enter.
- Use springs to move to the right and over opposition. Destroy blocks and continue right past the spikes.
- Continue over spikes until you get to the door.
- Head forward and jump on the platform. Don't get knocked off by the bullets and avoid the tentacles that rise out of the water.
- When it stops moving hop off and beat down enemies in your way.
- The stage will scroll right, watch out again for tentacles and continue moving. Get to the end and enter the door.

Stage Nineteen - The Research Facility
- Character select between Samus and Pikachu.
- Move right, following the lights on the floor and ceiling. As you move, a switch will appear; hit it to illuminate the room.
- Move right, destroying blocks, and hitting the switch when you require light again.
- When you approach the wall, wait for it to go dark once more. Then hit the button and drop down through the floor. Move right.
- Move right, past the enemies. Do not hit the first switch you see unless you want to fight the enemies it drops. Hit the next switch, which will open a wall. Jump over it and land on the other side.
- After it goes dark, continue across the platforms. Fight the enemies and hit another switch. Move down the ladder and enter the door.
- TIP: Grab the orange box.
- Move into the door, then head right. Fight the enemies and exit the door.
- Cutscene - Samus gets her suit and is approached by dark versions of her.
- Defeat them both in a standard brawl.
- Cutscene - After beating them ,a bunch of R.O.B.'s make it through the door and get eradicated by Samus.
- Character select.
- Bust the blocks and move right. Get in the door.
- Press the switch and move onto the platform. Let it take you up.
- Take a right and move up the ladder.
- Hit the switch and get on the next platform. Jump off and take care of the enemies.
- After they're defeated, hit the switch. This will bring up another platform, jump on it. You'll keep going until you reach one with a door.
- On your right side is a teleporter. After you enter, defeat the enemies.
- Move to the next teleporter, and hit the spring to move you up.
- Move to another teleporter and standby for another platform that will move you left where you will find another teleporter, ignore that one and take the one after it.
- Hit the switch on the wall, lowering the gate. Take the teleporter back into the other room. Once there, get in the middle teleporter that you skipped earlier.
- Move down the shaft and head right to last teleporter. This will take you to another room, get in the door.
- Cutscene - Ridley grabs Samus, but Pikachu interferes and blasts her out of his hands.
- Boss Fight - He'll dart across the screen constantly. This move is simple enough to avoid. Other than that he has a few attacks that are easily avoidable. Look for the openings and simply nuke him.
- Samus and Pikachu go after a few bomb carrying R.O.B.s.

Stage Twenty - Outside the Ancient Ruins
- Cutscene - Olimar and his Pikmin are having a celebration when they are attacked by a R.O.B.. Captain Falcon enters, and saves them.
- Move right, past enemies and over the hole.
- Move past the enemies and climb the ladder.
- Defeat the enemies and move right, dodging the enemies that fire at you. Move into the door.
- Cinema - Captain Falcon and Olimar land on the airship. Diddy rescues Donkey Kong.
- Character select.
- Defeat forty enemies.
- Cutscene - Our heroes are flown into a hanger.

Stage Twenty-One - The Glacial Peak
- Cutscene - The ice climbers are introduced as they race Meta Knight up a mountain.
- Character select.
- Move up the ladders and platforms to the top. Pass the spikes and move up the platforms.
- Jump into barrels and propel yourself to the top until you reach the door. Enter it.
- Take the platform up, past the crystals. Defeat enemies along the way as you move up. The screen will begin scrolling up, keep up.
- A wall of ice will continue coming from the right. Move up fast before you get crushed. At the top enter the door.
- TIP: Hop in the barrel and shoot yourself up and to the right. Land on some blocks that are destructible to reveal a door. Enter it and get an orange and green box. The switch will turn on the lights if you need more clarity to take on the enemies. Leave once you get your boxes.
- Move down to the barrel and shoot up and to the left. Climb the ladders avoiding the enemies in your way. Keep moving up until you get to the door. Enter it.
- Cutscene- Your two heroes meet Lucario at the mountain summit.
- 1 v 1 brawl. Pretty simple.
- Cutscene - Short scene of your character touching the trophy.
- Meta Knight and Lucario jump onto the passing ship.

Stage Twenty-Three - Battelship Hallberd Interior
- Cutscene - The box on the ship is revealed as the hiding place of Snake.
- Head right and enter the door.
- Continue right, leaping over the wall and falling platform. Head right and enter the door.
- Snake teams up with Lucario and Meta Knight to take on more Primids.
- Character select.
- Head right, staying on the top platforms. When you reach the portal, destroy it. The hit the switch that appears.
- Head left and down and destroy another portal. Hit the switch.
- Head back to the platform room at the start. Take the lower right exit, defeat the enemies and destroy the portal. Hit the switch.
- Head right, taking out blocks. Jump on through the wall and head through the door.
- Enter and get an orange box.
- Take the box and destroy the portal. Exit the room.
- Move left and use the springs to get to the firs platform room.
- Fall through the floor and enter the door.
- Defeat all the enemies that spawn. Head through the door that pops up.
- Move right while hitting switches to light the board up. Enter the door on the right.
- In this next section you need to kill all the enemies to open the gates.
- After they're all destroyed, move left and head through the door.
- Cutscene - The captive Zelda and Peach are turned into dark version of themselves.
- Double battle against both enemies.
- Cutscene - you destroy the cages and return the two princesses to their normal form. Snake runs off into the distance.

Stage Twenty-Four - Battleship Halberd Exterior
- Cutscene - Zelda transforms into Shiek.
- Character select.
- Move left, jumping across platforms, once again being cautious of the wind. You will find a door, enter it.
- Move right, past the enemies and bombs in your way. Reach the switch and hit it. Move right through the open door.
- In the next room of frozen enemies, move right and enter the door.
- Defeat the enemies in this room and move right past the blue flames. Kill more enemies and continue right.
- You will encounter a crushing machine. Time your escape so you pass through when it opens. Head in the door to the right.
- Move up the patfroms.
- Cutscene - Shiek and Fox have a fight in the sky. ( You will now be able to use whatever princess you didn't save at the start of the level).

Stage Twenty-Five - Battleship Halberd Bridge
- Our heroes approach a few Game and Watch men. They all form a giant boss.
- This boss is full of artillery. He's got long range lasers and short range blades. Be aware of his wind up tell, so that you can move in. You'll notice he has two sides, blue for close range, and pink for long range. Use the opposite attacks to defeat the side that is applicable (Example: Use long range attacks on his short range blue side and vice versa).
- Cutscene - Peach brings the Game and Watch trophy to life, unlocking the character. Meta Knight takes control of the ship.

Stage Twenty-Six - The Subspace Bomb Factory
- Cutscene- Samus and Pikachu are running frantically.
- Move right and go down the elevator, all the way to the bottom floor. Move right, defeating enemies and head to the next elevator.
- Go up then right through the door on your left.
- Break the blocks and hit the switch. A door will appear. Enter it.
- Defeat the enemy to gain a trophy.
- Go up the ladder on your left hand side and enter the door at the top.
- Take the elevator up one level. Hit the switch and exit.
- Move to the elevator and go up another level.
- Move left and kill all the enemies so a door appears.
- Tip: Head right and wall jump to get to the top where you will get an Orange Box.
- Leave the area and head back to the elevator. Take it down and get off one floor before the bottom. Head right and go through the door.
- Defeat the enemies that spawn.
- Cutscene - Samus and Pikachu are about to fight the Ancient Minister and his robot army. They stand down when they notice that the Minister is reluctant.

Stage Twenty-Seven - The Subspace Bomb Factory: Part 2
- Character selection.
- Move right, until you see the bomb box. Hitting it will destroy the floor beneath you so get ready to jump on the platform.
- Move right to the wheel platforms, destroying the enemies that spawn.
- Continue right, across more platforms. The screen will scroll, keep up, making sure to avoid the spikes. Continue right and get to the door.
- Move right across the conveyor belt, avoiding more spikes.
- The door needs to be unlocked, but you need to find the switches first.
- Move up, destroying breakable blocks. Hit the red lever at the top and quickly drop down before the roof crushes you.
- Move down the ladder and head left. Defeat the enemies that spawn and hit the blue lever.
- Continue right and move past the conveyor belts. Hit the lever, climb the ladder and head in the door.
- Move right past flames, defeating the enemies in your way. Head through the breakbale blocks.
- Move down the ladder. Head right, across enemies and flames. There will be a witch on the right to shut off the flames.
- Continue right and get on the elevator. Get to the top, and fight the enemies in the center, as the rest of the room collapses.
- Defeat the enemies, then move up and left. Destroy the blocks and grab the key.
- Cutscene - Our heroes are joined by Donkey Kong. The R.O.B.'s attempt to blow the place up but the Ancient Minister interferes. Ganondorf makes the robots attack the Minister. The Minister fights back and after an altercation with Ganon reveals himself to be a R.O.B..
- Character select.
- Fight a wave of fifty enemies. The last two are especially difficult. Hit them in their heads and try to divide them as much as possible.
- Cutscene - All the bombs start going off. Our heroes escape.
- Character select.
- The screen will begin scrolling down. Defeat the enemies, and break the blocks to keep moving down. As you keep moving, avoid the spikes and walls that close in on you.
- The platform will then split. You need to avoid the paltforms that impede your descent as it will kill you instantly. At the bottom you will get to a door. Enter it.
- Continue falling, watching out for bombs and moving through platforms. At the bottom the screen begins scrolling once more.
- Continue down, fighting or escaping enemies, and getting through the corridors to not get killed by the scroll.
- Fall down some more to get to the end.
- Cutscene - Reveal Meta Ridley chasing your group.
- Boss Battle - Defeat this boss with mostly aerial manuevers. After his attacks he leaves himself open for quite a bit. Be careful when he jumps up as he will come down with a smash. Other than that, just avoid his attacks and nail him in the opening.
- Cutscene - The bomb blows up as your party meets up.

Stage Twenty-Eight - Entrance to Subspace
- A huge ship battle ensues in the sky. Ganondorf and Bowser are on the offensive. They then get chased by a fleet of ships.
- Character select.
- Move right, defeating the enemies in your way until the screen scrolls right.
- When the screen stops, destroy the portals.
- Fight or avoid the spawning enemies and continue. Move right and fight more enemies until you reach a slight incline. Enter the door to your right.
- Cinema - Ganondorf turns Bowser into a trophy. A villian called Tabuu is introduced as he wields Master Hand on a chain. Ganon attempts to attack Tabuu but gets put down fast. Tabuu then turns our approaching heroes into trophies.\

Stage Twenty-Nine - Subspace
- Cutscene - Ness and Luigi bring Dedede to life.
- Make your way past these freezing enemies. Continue right and approach the door. Get the trophy you see. Now that character becomes available ( You're basically going to recollect every trophy you see to unlock your characters). Enter the door.
- Jump on the moving platforms and enter the first door on your right. Get the trophy, move up and left to get another trophy.
- Move across more of the moving platforms for another trophy on your right. Enter the door.
- Move left and grab the trophy. Get on the yellow box. This will create a path of blocks going up. Hop them to move up. Grab the trophy at the top.
- Head left, jump on the spring and destroy the blocks. Enter the door.
- Move left and grab the trophy. Hit the destruction box and quickly grab the trophy before it destroys the blocks underneath you. Get back in the door.
- Move right and activate the white blocks again. Climb and head right for another trophy. Take it and jump down. Go left towards the portal and enter the door.
- Fall down and grab the trophy. Set off the explosives and grab another trophy, then go back to the door.
- Head right and enter the door.
- Head right past the falling boxes and jump on the platform, breaking through the blocks.
- Head right where you'll see a door. Don't enter it yet.
- You need to move next to the falling block and bomb block. When the block falls and is close enough to the bomb box, you need to set it off. Jump on the platform and get the trophy and go through the door.
- This area will scroll. Jump and grab the trophy. Move right and grab another.
- Head through the door on the right.
- Jump and grab the trophy on your right. This will make a bunch of blocks appear to your right. Run on them to get to the door.
- Cutscene - Dedede brings Bowser back to life, but Bowser turns on him.
- Brawl with Bowser.
- Cutscene - Dedede and Bowser become aware of Master Hand.

Stage Thirty - Subspace: Part 2
- Cutscene - Kirby comes back to life.
- Jump up and move to the right to get the first trophy that's on a platform. Move right, up the high path and grab another trophy.
- Move right, past the bombs and grab another trophy on a ledge at the top right. Head right and through the door.
- Fall down and hit one of the red boxes on your side. Jump down and get the trophy.
- Drop again and hit the red box on the left. Drop again and grab the other trophy.
- Drop down and hit the red box on your right. Drop again and get the trophy.
- Destroy the blocks on the left and jump down for a fight.
- Auto scroll stage to the right. Hop the platforms and continue right. Fight the enemies there.
- Move right and grab the trophy. Enter the door.
- Drop down and head right.
- TIP: Grab the orange box.
- Head left and go up the platforms. Hit the bumper to bring the trophy down.
- Continue right and jump in the launcher.
- Hit the bumper and grab the trophy. Move right and jump on the platform. The white boxes will appear again.
- Move up the boxes and jump to the ledge. Defeat the enemies and move right across the platforms. Get the trophy.
- Move right and through the door.
- Cutscene - King Dedede and Kirby seem to become friends. Ganon is left as a trophy. Link and Zelda bring Ganon to life then head after Tabuu. Wario, Ness Luigi and Dedede go after Tabuu as well.

Stage Thirty-One - The Great Maze
- This stage is different than any others you've encountered. There is no ONE way to go through it. The basic strategy here is nothing more than move from door to door in no particular order defeating enemies.
- Also, there are numerous save points in the stage where you can switch characters if need be. These save point rooms also include teleports that will take you to different spots of the maze. Just be prepared for numerous boss fights and multiple enemy brawls.
- NOTE: The best way to navigate this place is by using the map to track the places you've been. Just pause the screen and it will pop up.
- NOTE: A door with black smoke around it will have a battle inside so be aware of these.
- Once you make your way past the enemies you will enter the final door.
- Tabuu is ready to attack you when Sonic comes in and breaks his wings off.
- Character select. Pick the character you're best with, this one is a doozy.
- Boss Battle - His attacks; He tosses ninja stars at you that you need to avoid. Careful as it will boomerang back to him, avoid the return as well. He also will swoop down on you; Avoid this too. Another thing you'll notice is his teleportation moves around the stage. He's impossible to catch while he's doing it so just wait until he stops. Another of his moves is when he drops a statue. When this statue manifests under him, be ready to jump over a laser. Sometimes the laser will go higher, in which case you need to duck. The most frustrating part of this boss is his "Smash" move. He jumps center stage and spreads his wings. He will then shoot three rings at you that you need to dodge. These rings are instant smashes and will end your fight fast so be quick on the draw. Good luck on this one, it'll take a few tries.
- Cutscene - Tabuu is destroyed and all is well. Congratulations on beating the Subspace Emissary!!
