Mario made his first appearance in the Super Mario Bros. video game and he is one of the 35 characters in Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the Nintendo Wii. Although there is no main character in Brawl, Mario is one of the characters in focus because of his strong ties to the Nintendo franchise. In Brawl, Mario is equipped with the F.L.U.D.D., a water gun-like device that can keep opponents at a distance (it does not damage the opponent, however). Many "Super Smash Bros." fans consider Mario as an average character, as he has some good strengths but very bad weaknesses.
