• This page includes information about the characters available for play in Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the Nintendo Wii. As more information is released, this page will be updated. There are 35 characters available for play in the game. At the start of the game, players can choose from 21 different characters. Fourteen other fighters can be unlocked by playing versus matches, event matches, or passing the Subspace Emissary. Three characters in the game have special select options before a match begins:

  1. Players who choose Pokemon Trainer have the option of choosing one of the three Pokemon to start. The rotation will always be Charizard, Ivysaur, Squirtle and back to Charizard, regardless of which character is first. If no specific Pokemon is selected, the first character will be selected at random.
  2. Players can choose either Zelda or Sheik by selecting the fighter, then clicking on the specific character.
  3. To select Zero Suit Samus, hold R, choose Samus, then release R.
