  • Super Metroid is a 1994 action-adventure game for the SNES and the Virtual Console, developed by Nintendo R&D1 and published by Nintendo. It is the third released game in the Metroid series.
  • Story

In Super Metroid Samus responds to a distress signal from the Ceres Space Colony, where she had left the last remaining Metroid creature in the care of scientists. Aran discovers the Metroid is gone, stolen by Ridley (a high-ranking Space Pirate resembling a small dragon), whom she follows to the Space Pirate planet of Zebes. Aran then sets out to explore the massive planet of Zebes, find the stolen Metroid and destroy the infamous Mother Brain.
  • Gameplay

Like the previous two Metroid titles, in Super Metroid you play as the female space pirate Samus Aran. She is outfitted for combat in almost any environment, and wears a high-tech body suit of armor that allows her to use various weapons and abilities. Zebes is essentially a large platformer level, which you navigate left to right, exploring the numerous areas. As you do so, you will unlock new abilities for Aran: missiles, bombs, morph ball, charge beam, spazer and others.
