Super Mario World is a platformer game developed and published by Nintendo for the SNES.
Story
Princess Peach is kidnapped once again by Bowser and it's up to Mario and Luigi to rescue her, and the rest of Mushroom Kingdom, from the claws of this tyrannical fire-breathing dinosaur.
Gameplay
The game stays true to the previous incarnations and Mario is still stomping on the heads of goombas and other critters. The controls are still simple with only two buttons that allow you to jump and breath fire. The addition of Yoshi adds a whole other dimension to the game. You can ride atop Yoshi and swallow enemies and spit them back out. Yoshi also comes in different colors. The blue Yoshi flies, the red one spits enemies out in flames, and so forth. With Yoshi you can access areas that you previously would not have been able to with just Mario. There is also a 2-player option where your friend can play as Luigi, however the 2nd player can only play after the first player has lost a life. There are also a plethora of hidden secrets levels. After you complete each level you are brought back to the map screen that shows you where the different levels are including bonus areas like Toad's house or castles. Other areas can only be unlocked when you find a secret key.
