The Sinking Lava Spire
- Watch out for the Burn Bits and cross over the lava streams.
- Use the mesh catwalks to cross the lava lake; the mesh catwalks sink under Mario's weight, so be careful.
- Avoid the steam vents and wall jump onto the switch. Ground pound it.
- Wall jump up the chimney, avoiding the steam vents.
- At the top, use the sling star, then use the second sling star Mario lands on, then use the Launch Star.
- Next area: a field of glass planetoids. Use the sling star asap before Mario falls onto the minature sun.
- Follow the glass planetoids up to a series of pull stars.
- Follow the pull stars through the field of stars, avoiding any solar flares. Get the Life Mushroom on the way to the Launch Star.
- Use the Launch Star Mario runs into on the way towards the lava to avoid falling in.
- Next area: use the sling star on the metal structure to jump to the big meteorite. Look for 5 star chips.
- One is to the left of where you begin.
- Another is surround by three steam vents near where you begin.
- A third is on the opposite side of the meteorite from the second star chip.
- The fourth is just north of the third one.
- The fifth is behind a row of steam vents, opposite the third one. Launch off.
- Next area: a collapsing stone bridge. Long jump across or Mario will tumble into the lava.
- After reaching the spire, it will begin to sink. Run forward as fast as you can, ignoring the star bits and enemies. Watch out for a rock formation crashing down from above on one gap.
- Past the rock formation collapse will be three holes with boulders rolling out. Use caution.
- Ground pound the switch and wall jump very quickly up the chimney.
- Follow the path to the left to reach the peak. Ignore the collectibles and the Burn Bits.
- At the top of the peak, quickly smash the crystal to get a star before Mario sinks with the spire.

-
Burning Tide
- Select the level "The Sinking Lava Spire".
- Play through the level as normal until Mario reaches the area with the glass planetoids, just after using the Launch Star from the volcano.
- Look for a Hungry Luma on one of the glass planetoids. Feed it 80 star bits and launch off.
- Next area: a planet covered in unduating molten rock. The white areas are the only safe places to stand when the lava level rises. You must find 5 silver stars in this area.
- Run forward and make a right at the split to get the first silver star.
- Keep moving forward and get the silver star atop thep pole.
- Head left and get another silver star above a firebar. Stand on the block where the silver star was to avoid getting hit by the firebar.
- To the right of the silver star is a Life Mushroom near a ? Block. Grab it.
- From the Life Mushroom, go forward to get a fourth star. Watch out for a group of ambushing Burn Bits.
- Head left and get the final silver star, surrounded by steam vents.
- The star will appear to the left. Collect it.
-
Through the Meteor Storm
- Progress forward to find two gray crucibles. Lure a Burn Bit into touching both crucibles, setting them aflame. When both crucibles are ignited, a Launch Star appears.
- Next area: a straightforward trip around a structure with Thwomps and meteors. Take your time pass each obstacle. Grab the 1-up underneath the third Thwomp, then use the Launch Star to ride off.
- Next area: you must find 5 star chips amongst the chaos. Watch out for meteors; they sometimes roll about before exploding. Avoid the dancing blue flames as well.
- The first star chip is in a crate on the left. The second is north of the crate. The third is on the opposite side, south of the Life Mushroom. The third is north of the Life Mushroom, marooned on an island. The fifth is at the northern tip of this area; the Launch Star will appear next to it.
- Next area: Mario lands on a glass cage containing the Launch Star. Follow the path to the other end of the structure, eliminating any Burn Bits you find along the way.
- At the far side of the structure is a Bill Blaster. You must lure the Bullet Bill all the way back. Use the Launch Star when the cage is smashed.
- Next area: another ball course, similar to Rolling Green Galaxy. Hop onto the ball to begin.
- Ignore the meteors and get onto the moving platforms. Grab the 1-up before using the third moving platform to reach the tunnel.
- Inside the tunnel, keep an eye on the floor for gaps and roll forward. Some of the gaps can be hard to see, so watch carefully. Avoid leaping as this may cause you to lose control of the ball.
- At the end, use the larger platform to jump to the hole. Set the ball inside and then grab the star on the flag pole.
-
Fiery Dino Piranha
- Follow the stone paths around the volcano to a series of purple platforms. These, too, sink under Mario's weight.
- Follow the path of purple platforms to a large alcove with steam vents. You can either wall jump up the left-hand chimney or buffer jump up the steps on the right. Take the pipe at the top.
- Next area: a half-submerged meteorite patrolled by five Burn Bits. Destroy all of the Burn Bits to create a Launch Star.
- Next area: another meteorite, this time spinning in the lava. Run against it to the other side to a Launch Star; watch out for solar flares.
- Next area: a series of floating lifts rotating in a circle over a lava core. You must find 5 star chips here.
- Hop on the first lift you see heading to the right.
- A star chip should now be visible below. Drop down to a stone platform to the right of it, and ride on one of the lifts going left (the ones that can push you off the platform).
- Hop onto the stone platform to the left of the star chip, and ride on one of the lowest lifts going right. Grab the star chip and take it back to the first stone platform.
- A star chip is visible from the stone platform. Continue riding your lift to it.
- After grabbing this star chip, ride it to the next stone platform. Then hop onto a lift going left, then backflip jump with a buffer onto any lift within reach of the third star chip. Make your way back to the stone platform to the right of the second star chip.
- Hop on one of the lowest lifts going right to get the fourth star chip. Ride the lift to the stone platform to its right.
- The fifth star chip is above; the best bet is to ignore the lifts and instead stand near the edge of the stone platform, face away from the edge, and do a backflip with a buffer to reach it. Time your leap so that one of the lifts at the bottom will be able to catch Mario.
- Climb onto the green-colored lifts going right and ride it to the Launch Star. Launch off.
- Next area: use the sling stars and mesh platforms to cross the lava to the sling star. Buy a Life Mushroom and launch off to the boss.
- BOSS: Fiery Dino Piranha
- This version of Dino Piranha is the same is the previous version; hit the nut at the end of his tail to damage him. Four hits and he's done.
- The only major difference is that his tail tends to flare up at times, making it dangerous to touch. Wait for his tail to cool off before striking it.
- He also is a bit faster; you can consider slowing down his charges towards Mario with repeated star bit shots to the face.
Lava Spire Daredevil Run (COMET)
- You will need to beat the entirety of the level "The Sinking Lava Spire" without taking any damage. Make sure to take your time around hazardous areas like the steam vents and the pull star path.
Infiltrating the Dreadnought
- Above the lazer beams and electrodes as you work your way up to the other side of the structure. Use the purple droid to spring Mario to the Launch Star.
- Next area: take out the Astro Goombas (spin attack, then stomp them). Take the warp pipe.
- Next area: inside some machine works; avoid the electrodes. Run to the purple arrows, and when the walls close, wall jump upwards. Get a Life Mushroom on the left.
- Go to the right and enter the dead-end with the pointer when it is safe. Hit the pointer and gravity will change.
- You must now wall jump from the wall on the right onto the top of the crushers. Repeat this until Mario climbs out of the pit.
- Head to the right and watch out for cannonballs. Hit the pointer.
- After changing gravity, use the trampoline to reach the purple droids above. Bounce on the droids to reach the warp pipe.
- Next area: outside the Dreadnought, a massive space-faring battleship. Use the green Topmen to bounce up the cylinders. If the Topmen are destroyed, a new one will replace it. Be careful as the cylinders will fall away as Mario move upwards.
- Up top, wait for the walls to come down and wall jump upwards to the star.
- Next area: Mario is on a steel structure, under pursuit from lazers. Avoid them and seek the sling star on the other side.
- In the next area, drop down onto the dirt and grass and look for a Bill Blaster. Lure a Bullet Bill to a glass cage and have it impact. The area will become flooded.
- Climb up the grassy steps and hop onto the tops of the laser platforms. Follwo them to the right, destroying the Mecha-Koopas in the way.
- The laser platforms lead north to the star. Ride the last platform to the grassy bridge, and head to the star, avoiding the lazer beams.
Dreadnought's Colossal Cannons
- Jump onto the giant screw and run to the left while staying on the right hand side, so that the screw turns toward the platform ahead.
- On the other side, dodge the Mini-Chomps and turn all the blue ? switches yellow. The electric barriers will lower.
- Cross the gap by turning the giant screw close enough to the second to long jump to it.
- Turn the screw towards the platform. When it closes in, two giant octopi will attack; reflect their coconuts back at them. A bridge will lowered for Mario to use. Use the Launch Star.
- Hop onto the lift in the next area. It will proceed down a cannonball gantlet. Jump over the electric barriers and shoot any cannonball about to hit Mario.
- The lift will pass under an upside-down identical version of it. When an alarm sounds, leap to the second lift; Mario will enter it's gravity field while the first lift will crash into mines.
- The second lift will pass over a third lift; when the alarm sounds, jump to the third lift. Run under the Thwomp when it raises.
- At the end of the line, the lift will head upwards; jump to a fourth lift with a Goomba on it. Continue dodging cannonballs and climbing over ledges in your way.
- Jump to a fifth lift when your current lift reaches it. Ride it to a sixth lift.
- This lift will be under siege by cannonballs. Stay low to the ground and concentrate on evading only the cannonballs level with Mario.
- The lift will now drift past two purple droids. Dodge the ring waves and when the lift pulls close to the second, jump onto the droid and bounce up to the star.
Revenge of the Topman Tribe
- Use the green Topman to reach the sling star above him. Then spin attack the two red Topmen into the cage holding the Luma. Use his sling star.
- Next area: ground pound the switch and then collect the star chips while avoiding the Topmen. Use the green Topman to reach the pull stars; travel to the Launch Star.
- Next area: a rocket positioned at a minefield. Run underneath the rocket to collect a Life Mushroom.
- Carefully cross the minefield/cannonball gantlet. Use the pull star just after a cannonball passes, then wait for an opportunity on the next pull star. Repeat until you reach the Launch Star at the end.
- Next area: a runway loaded with ring wave droids and Rocky Wrenches. The white rings on the ground signify the range of a particular ring wave droid.
- Hug the sides of the runway as you move forward, to avoid the crowds of ring wave droids. When you enter a white ring, you know you are in the range of a ring droid, so be prepared to dodge ring waves. Near the center is a Life Mushroom. Take the Launch Star on the right-hand side of the other side of the runway.
- Next area: deal with the Topmen as you head for a break in the fence to the left. Enter the arena for a boss.
- BOSS: Topmaniac
- He is exactly similar to the previous incarnation; The only difference is that the electric fence moves and contains gaps, and he is flanked by two Topmen during each "wave".
- Just jump on his head, then spin attack him into the electric fence three. Do this three times for the win; if he misses the fence, keep spin attacking until he does hit it. Kill the Topmen before going after him; he does not seem to be too aggressive until they are dead.
Dreadnought's Garbage Dump
- Choose the level "Revenge of the Topman Tribe". At the start, go under the saucer Mario starts under and take the warp pipe.
- You will have to play the "Bomb the Garbage" mini-game again. As always, the embedded coins on the ground demonstrate where to set the bombs. If you are having trouble, follow the steps below.
- Grab the left-most bomb throw it onto the embedded coin in the bottom left.
- Grab the nearest bomb and throw it onto the embedded coin in the middle on the left.
- Grab the nearest bomb and throw it onto the embedded coin in the middle to the right.
- Grab the bomb on the far right and throw it onto the embedded coin in the lower right.
- Grab the bomb on the far left and throw it at the embedded coin on the upper left.
- Grab the closest bomb and use it to blow up the remaining trash it the upper right.
- As always you can position bombs close by where you will set the final bomb to start a chain reaction, hopefully snagging any straggling trash piles.
- If you win this game, you get a star.
Topman Tribe Speed Run (COMET)
- You have six minutes to finish the entire "Revenge of the Topman Tribe" level. Do not be tempted to hurry through the minefield/cannonball gantlet. Instead, long jump like crazy through the runway with the ring wave droids. When fighting Topmaniac, ignore the Topmen and just keep going after their leader.
Watch Your Step
- This is a sequel to the "Matter Splatter Mansion" level from Ghostly Galaxy. Always stay on the matter auras revealing solid ground and never try to outpace it.
- The first area is a gantlet of auras and Magikoopas. Rather than duke it out with them, run forward/long jump your way past them to the warp pipe on the other side.
- In the next area, wall jump up along with the matter aura.
- Stay put after wall jumping to the top until the big spotlight aura appears; follow it as it moves back to the right.
- When the aura reveals a chimney to wall jump, do so. You will now be inside an aura above the previous one.
- If you are quick enough, you can wall jump immediately up the chimney on the right. If not, follow your aura all the way to the left, then back to the right, and wall jump up the chimney.
- Follow the new aura to the right. Ignore the Magikoopa and take the pipe.
- Grab the Spring Mushroom and super jump to the ? Coin.
- Bounce along the platforms upward. Note that Spring Mario can only bounce through the mesh platforms and not the solid rock platforms.
- The 1-up mushroom is floating above a swinging platform; do not jump to the swinging platform until a mesh platform with enough height to safely do it appears.
- Swing to the other side using the swinging platform and keep moving upward. Grab the ? Coin for a big star bit bonus.
- At the ? Coin, you will need to make a big super jump to either one of two mesh platforms on the right or left.
- From the platforms, jump upwards and then super jump to the sling star above. Launch upwards and take the pipe.
- Next area: a maze involving the matter auras. Taking the wrong route may strand Mario.
- From the start of the maze: take the path on the right, then take the path on the right again.
- Follow the path as it turns left, but do not jump the gap. Instead, jump to the middle rock when it appears, then to the path ahead.
- Next, either follow the path as it curves around, or jump the gap using the rock.
- Continue on and wipe out both Magikoopas or they will be a pest.
- Leap to the pinkish paths, and ignore the right hand path; keep going straight.
- At the split, take the left path. When it terminates into small rocks, jump to the coin, then to the rocks appearing to the right.
- Follow the path as it curves to the left. Ignore the Magikoopa when he appears and go for the star.
Star Bunnies In The Snow
- This level is unlocked by completing "The Sinking Lava Spire" in Melty Molten Galaxy. A Hungry Luma will appear outside the Garden; feed him 1600 Star Bits.
- Use the Koopa Shell to open the chest to access a Sling Star to the next area. In the next area, you have 150 seconds to capture all three star bunnies.
- Hit the switch in front of your starting point.
- Run to the left and use the Wiimote's cursor to sweep the snow to find a second switch.
- Run to the left and get the third switch in the snow. With all three switches active, two pits will appear; grab the Fire Flower in one of the pits.
- Destroy all the snowmen using the Fire Flower; when a bunny is revealed, chase it and capture it.
- Continue destroying all the snowmen using the Fire Flower until a Koopa Shell is found (if it hasn't been already); use it to break open a chest with the bunny.
- The third bunny is hidden in the snow; if it hasn't been found already, keep sweeping the snow until it is found.
- TIP: If the bunnies are proving too hard to catch, herd them into the pits opened by the three switches.
