  • Super Bowl in London?

In May of 2009, reports circulated that the league was planning to host a Super Bowl in London, as soon as 2014. The claims were denied by the league via their official Twitter account, stating "We are not pursuing idea of putting a Super Bowl in London or anywhere outside U.S."
  • History

The first Super Bowl was held on January 15, 1967, shortly after the merger between the American Football League and the National Football League. It has since become a national pastime that many consider a national holiday.
  • Celebrations

Millions of Americans attend Super Bowl Parties each year. The gatherings are generally accompanied by lots of food and drink. Super Bowl Sunday each year is the second highest day of the year for total food consumption, behind Thanksgiving.
  • Commercials

Due to the Super Bowl being the most widely viewed television program of the year, companies pay millions of dollars for precious advertising time during the broadcast. This results in some of the best and funniest commercials of the year.
  • Halftime Entertainment

Halfway through each Super Bowl, an extravagant show is held, commonly with the top musical acts at the time performing. This show came under fire in 2004 in what was dubbed a 'wardrobe malfunction' at Super Bowl XXXVIII during a performance by Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson.
