Sunkrish Bala

Sunkrish Bala is an American actor with Indian ancestry. He stars in the ABC sitcom Notes From the Underbelly.

Bala was born in Bombay, India and raised in San Jose, California.

Bala started acting at a young age. He began in community theater and during high school he started a theater group. He never thought of it as a possible career until he met Kal Penn during his senior year of high school. Penn helped him realize that he was meant to be an actor.

Bala has guest starred on many well known shows including Will and Grace, My Name is Earl and Grey's Anatomy.

In 2006 he began his roll in Notes From the Underbelly. In the series he plays Eric, the husband of Julie (Melanie Paxson).

Bala is proud of his heritage and dislikes taking roles that mock or stereotype it.
