The Sun Bowl, sponsored by Hyundai, is an annual college football bowl game. The first Sun Bowl was played on January 1, 1935, and featured two Texas high school teams. In 2004, a Sun Bowl record of 51,288 people watched Arizona State defeat Purdue 27-23.
