Sun Bowl

The Sun Bowl, sponsored by Hyundai, is an annual college football bowl game. Generally played in late December, the Sun Bowl hosts the Pac-10 Conference champion, unless that team plays in a BCS game, and one team from the Atlantic Coast Conference or the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.http://espn.go.com/ncf/topics/_/page/sun-bowl

The first Sun Bowl was played on January 1, 1935, and featured two Texas high school teams. In 2004, a Sun Bowl record of 51,288 people watched Arizona State defeat Purdue 27-23.
