Summer

For those who live in the Northern Hemisphere, Summer is warmest of the four seasons. Although Summer officially begins on June 21 and ends on September 21, many Americans recognize Memorial Day as the start of the season, and Labor Day is considered the end of Summer. The start of Summer in the Northern hemisphere is the beginning of Winter in the Southern hemisphere. The months of June, July and August are the Summer months in the Northern hemisphere and the months of December, January and February mark the season in the Southern hemisphere. The weather during this time of year is often a series of violent thunderstorms, lightening and hail. In many areas of the world, primary and secondary schools are closed for summer recess, which, in the United States, typically begins at the end of June and lasts until the start of September. For some people, this is the best time of the year, there is swimming, theme parks, baseball, fishing and dozens of other fun activities that you can do only during this time of year. Summer is the time for drinking long, tall glasses of ice cold lemonade, lounging on the beach getting the perfect tan and running up and down the sandy beaches.

When you go out into the sun during the Summer, don't forget your sunscreen and lip protection. A large wide-brimmed hat will do a lot to keep some of the sun off of your skin.
