Director Spike Lee's Summer of Sam is a fictionalized account of events which occurred during summer of 1977, when a serial killer known as the Son of Sam terrorized residents of New York City.
Plot Summary
Residents of an Italian-American neighborhood in the Bronx grow increasingly fearful and mistrustful of one another as a serial killer threatens the women of New York. As a heat wave ravages through the city, the citizens turn to violence and scapegoating in an attempt to quell the fear that has united them into a paranoid mob.
