  • November 13, 2007: An outbreak of the deadly H5N1 strain of bird flu had been reported from a Suffolk, England turkey farm. 5,000 free-range turkeys, 1,000 ducks, and 500 geese, have been permanently removed from the population in order to stop the spread of the disease. Britain curbed a February outbreak of the disease by culling 160,000 turkeys.
