Sudoku

One of the fastest growing puzzle games in the world is Sudoku. Created in 1979, it involves filling in an entire grid of single-digit numbers so that all the numbers between 0-9 are contained both horizontally and vertically, with no repeating of said numbers on any column or row.

Mathematics Version of Crosswords

The term sudoku is translated from Japanese meaning "the numbers must be single", or "the numbers must occur only once". Players trying to solve a sudoku puzzle typically utilize one of three methods: scanning, mark up, and analysis. Sudoku puzzle begin with a predetermined assignment of numbers, and are comprised of a Latin Square; the fewer the preassigned numbers, the more difficult the puzzle. it wasn't until they started to appear in newspapers across the United States in the 2000s that Sudoku gained exponentially in popularity.
