The Sturgis motorcycle rally is the largest motorcycle rally in the US. It is held every August in Sturgis, South Dakota. Founded by Pappy Hoel, the first official Sturgis Rally was held in 1938. In 2000, the rally boasted over 600,000 visitors during the week long event.
