Private Bowe R. Bergdahl was captured by the Taliban on June 30, 2009. According to the U.S. military, Bergdahl, age 23, was captured after he left his assigned post in Afghanistan.
On July 19, 2009, a video of Bergdahl was released. In the video, Bergdahl said he was "lagging behind the patrol" at the time he was captured.http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/world/la-fg-afghan-soldier20-2009jul20,0,4913063.story

In the video released by the Taliban, Pvt. Bergdahl can bee seen wearing a blue Afghan tunic. The video runs 28 minutes, Bergdahl says, "I'm scared I won't be able to go home. It is very unnerving to be a prisoner... I have my girlfriend who is hoping to marry. . . . Dearest Bowe, My son PFC Sheamus McNeeley went to boot camp with you at Fort Benning. I remember how full of life you were, and how proud we all were of all of you. There is not a moment that goes by that we are not praying for your safe return home...

While I cannot claim that I know what you're going through, or even how it feels for your loved ones to scale through each day and each night not knowing what your fate is at any given moment; one thing I know. The Lord still answers the prayers of His beloved. I pray for you every day by name and I'm confident that the prayer answering and miracle working God will bring you home safely in Jesus' name. Just keep your eyes focused on Him. He will set you free from the chains and shackles of the evil ones.
