The University of Akron Zips men's basketball team plays college basketball in the Mid-American Conference of the NCAA.
The Zips won the 2009 MAC Tournament, earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. Akron was placed as the 13th seed in the South Region bracket and were defeated by the Gonzaga Bulldogs in the first round.
