Broad is the son of the former England cricketer Chris Broad. Broad was awarded with the NBC Denis Compton Award on three consecutive years, 2005, 2006 and 2007. He is the also Cricket Writer's Club Young Cricketer of the Year for 2006. Stuart Broad holds the record for the 8th wicket partnership for England in One-Day International matches with Ravi Bopara.
