Strictly Ballroom is a 1986 play and its 1992 film adaptation, both of which were written by Baz Luhrmann. The film is a romantic comedy about an unconventional ballroom dancer starring Paul Mercurio, Tara Morice, Bill Hunter and Pat Thomson.
Plot Summary
Paul Mercurio stars as Scott Hastings, a talented ballroom dancer who refuses to stick to conventions and invents his own choreographic style. He recruits rookie dancer Fran (Tara Morice) as his dance partner and together, the pair make waves at the Pan-Pacific Ballroom Dance Championships.
