The Street Fighter movie is an action film scheduled for release in 2008 and is based on the popular Street Fighter fighting game series. The story focuses around the classic character, Chun-Li (played by Kristin Kreuk) as she embarks on an as-yet unspecified quest for justice. It has been rumored that the 2008 movie will coincide with the release of the new Street Fighter home video game, Street Fighter IV. A trailer for the film was released online on December 29, 2008. Not the First Strike
The 2008 Street Fighter will not be the first movie to be made from the video game, as one was also released in 1994 which starred Jean-Claude Van Damme, Raul Julia and Ming-Na. And despite lackluster reviews from fans and critics alike, that version made an estimated $100 million in box offices worldwide.
