Street Fighter IV is one of the most highly anticipated games slated for release in the first part of 2009. According to Capcom, the game is set between Street Fighter II and Street Fighter III. Though it stays true to its roots with traditional 2D gameplay, the game features an all-new 3D art-style that's described as a moving painting."

The game also features a long roster of playable characters including characters from Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max as well as new characters developed based on traditional forms of martial arts. Capcom says there is a good mix of serious and humorous new characters.

Another new feature in Street Fighter 4, is a special attack, known as the focus attack.
