April 17, 2009: Capcom announced a championship mode for Street Fighter 4, which will be released for the PS3 and Xbox 360 on April 24, 2009.

• Championship Mode
• The Power Up Pack adds an improved skill-level tournament matching system for beginners and mid-level fighters. Each player is assigned a rank and will only be matched up with fighters of the same rank. Competitors earn Grade Points (GP) to earn entry into more advanced tournaments. Win a full tournament to receive Championship Points. This isn't actually a tournament, but instead works more like ranked matchmaking.

• Replay Mode
• The replay mode allows players to record their matches and share them online. Only videos from top-ranking players can be viewed. The PS3 gets an exclusive voting system so players can rate matches as "funny," "awesome" or "beautiful."
