Street Fighter 4 Gen

Gen is one of the 25 playable characters in Street Fighter IV, the action game developed by Capcom for multiple platforms.

Gen is an assassin with a notorious reputation in the underworld. Upon finding out that he had leukemia, Gen vowed to die a noble death. He traveled the world in search of a worthy foe to grant him the death he longs for. He finally found relief in a final battle with Akuma.

Gen was a friend of Chun-Li's father and trained her briefly when she was young. His fighting technique is a combination of various Kung Fu disciplines, and he switches between the Mantis and Crane styles during battle. Street Fighter IV features backgrounds rendered in 3D, while the characters and collision are completely in 2D. Daigo Ikeno, who worked on 3rd Strike, was also the art director and character designer for SFIV. In an interview with 1up.com, he pointed out that he was "not consciously trying to emulate the design of Street Fighter III or anything....
