Abel is one of the new characters in Street Fighter 4. He is a mixed martial artist from France who uses a variety of combos and has a special grab. Since a number of moves leave him vulnerable and he doesn't have much defense, using him well requires a mastery of all his moves and some mind-games on the part of the player, making him difficult to learn and master.

About Abel
Abel is a mixed martial artist from France. As a non-projectile character, he relies on getting close to his enemies to do damage. To this end, he has a number of moves that will let him advance on his foes like his forward + medium kick which lets him dash forward after a hit and close space. Once up close, Abel can use a variety of combos or Tornado Throw to do a decent amount of damage. On defense, however, Abel is extremely vulnerable. He has no anti-air moves, so when enemies jump in at him he's helpless aside from trying to back away. That can be an extremely dangerous situation if Abel traps himself in a corner. Furthermore, Abel is extremely vulnerable even while on the offense. His Change of Direction move is not safe on block, which means if the first hit is defended, you're open to a counterattack. His Marceaux Roll, which lets him roll through fireballs and can be used to trick opponents, is open to attacks or throws at the very end of the animation, which makes it extremely risky to use.
Overall Abel is a decent character who packs quite a punch but is a bit risky to use if you aren't cautious enough.
