Stranger is a game that is part RPG and part Real-Time Strategy, and requires you to command armies within a mystical fantasy world.

Story
Stranger is based on an existentialist novel by a French writer called Albert Camus. You play three separate characters lost in a mysterious world that you have been cast into due to your use of experimental magic. The three are reluctantly forced to cooperate in the efforts to return home and to dole out some justice. -
Gameplay
The basic idea is a mix of RPG elements mixed with RTS staples such as gathering resources and hiring mercenaries. There are also crystals that you must manage that are in three different colors: red, green and blue. They serve to power your magic and can also be used for currency when you hire out your troops. You must balance out your crystals to cast your spells correctly. You also must manage your metal resources which can be acquired by melting down gear you don't need. You can recycle your old weapons and equpiment to create new items or sell the metal for money. Combat is similar to Diablo in that it is real-time with no random battles, although for the most part you will be using your mercenary troops. You can drag select and move your troops, break them up into hotkey groups, and right-click to attack. You attack based on different key strokes and with each enemy you kill you gain experience, get loot, and complete quests. -
