Rebellious teenager Haley Graham (Missy Peregrym) is arrested and given a choice: either enroll in a gymnastics program headed by Burt Vickerman (Jeff Bridges), or be held at a military institute.Haley, at one time one of the world's best gymnasts, abruptly walked out during competition, which had since tarnished her reputation within the sport.
With Vickerman's help, she regains her passion for gymnastics, learning to better control her various moves and techniques. The sport's scoring system, however, remains her biggest enemy, and after regaining the faith of her fellow gymnasts, Haley "sticks it" to the judges and their absurd rules.
Considered a formulaic feel-good movie by most critics, the film opened to poor reviews. It currently has a 30% on Rotten Tomatoes.
