Stewart David Nozette is a Maryland scientist who worked for the U.S. Defense Department. In October of 2009, Nozette was charged with attempted espionage for Israel. According to reports, the 52-year-old Nozette, who once worked for NASA and the U.S. Department of Energy, was arrested on October 19, 2009. The U.S. Department of Justice said in a statement that Nozette "knowingly and willfully attempting to communicate, deliver, and transmit classified information relating to the national defense of the United States" to someone he thought was an Israeli intelligence officer.http://www.google.com/hostednews/afp/article/ALeqM5hzSuUWAoHfqUsAXeT4wBk8Hzk97w
