Steve Wozniak

Steve Wozniak is an American computer engineer and is world-renowned for designing the world's first personal computer. Together with Steve Jobs, Wozniak founded Apple.

Wozniak is chief scientist and 'IT thought leader' for Fusion-io, which gave a license to IBM to use its NAND flash memory technology for servers. The new servers will be marketed as the "IBM High IOPS Adapter". [1]

Wozniak was an early adopter of the Segway, a two-wheeled personal transportation device invented by Dean Kamen. He participates in a competitive Segway polo team, the 'Silicon Valley Aftershocks', who lost the 4th Annual Woz Challenge Cup in July 2009 to the Barbados team, the 'Flying Fish'. [2] <ref>

In 1975, Wozniak was working to impress members of the Palo Alto-based Homebrew Computer Club, a local group of electronics hobbyists, when he came up with the computer that eventually made him famous. Steve Wozniak met Steve Jobs in 1970 when Jobs was working a summer job at the same business where Wozniak was working on a mainframe computer. On April 1, 1976, Jobs and Wozniak formed Apple Computer and in 1980, when Apple went public, Jobs and Wozniak became multimillionaires.

Wozniak on Dancing with the Stars

Steve Wozniak was announced as one of 13 celebrities who will compete on season eight of the popular ABC reality show Dancing with the Stars. Wozniak follows in the footsteps of another computer guru, Mark Cuban. Cuban was a contestant on the show in 2007. Wozniak was expected to compete against the likes of pop singers Jewel and Belinda Carlisle, 2008 Olympic gold medalist Shawn Johnson and former professional football player Lawrence Taylor. name="SIGN">SignOnSanDiego.com: Wozniak to hoof it on `Dancing with the Stars' (February 8, 2009)

On a post to his Facebook Support Group in March 2009, Wozniak complained that the scenarios on the television show were often set up to make the program look more dramatic than they often were.CNET: Woz in ABC "outright lie" Accusation (March 17, 2009)

Wozniak was eliminated from Dancing with the Stars on March 31, 2009.
