College football coach Steve Spurrier has served as the head coach of the South Carolina Gamecocks football team since 2005. He is also the 1966 Heisman Trophy winner and played 11 seasons in the National Football League.
He came under fire in July of 2009 after he did not select Florida Gators football quarterback and fellow Heisman winner Tim Tebow for the pre-season All-SEC honors. Spurrier later stated it was an oversight, adding that his director of football filled out the ballot, and he failed to check the selections before signing off on it.http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=4352863
