The Steve Miller Band is a blues-based classic rock band led by singer and guitarist Steve Miller. Founded in the '60s, they performed at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967 with the likes of The Grateful Dead, The Who, Jimi Hendrix, and Janis Joplin.
But the Steve Miller Band's biggest successes would come in the '70s when they released a string of hit songs that included "The Joker," "Fly Like an Eagle," "Take The Money and Run," "Rock 'N Me," "Jet Airliner," and "Jungle Love."
The band continues to tour, and the greatest hits release containing their popular songs from 1974-1978 has been certified 13 times platinum in the United States by the RIAA.
