Steve Largent was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was drafted in 1976 to the Houston Oilers and retired having set records for most yards received and most receptions.
Political Career
He then moved into politics where he was appointed a member of congress in Oklahoma. Largent was a strong conservative force and won the Republican Party nomination for state Governor in 2002. However, he lost the election by 7,000 votes.
