Football Career
Steve Largent was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was drafted in 1976 to the Houston Oilers and retired having set records for most yards received and most receptions. -
Political Career
He then moved into politics where he was appointed a member of congress in Oklahoma. Largent was a strong conservative force and won the Republican Party nomination for state Governor in 2002. However, he lost the election by 7,000 votes. -
