Early Years
Jobs was born in San Francisco, California, and was adopted as an infant. He grew up just south of his birthplace in Cupertino, California. After graduating from Homestead High School, Jobs enrolled at Reed College in Portland, Oregon. However, he dropped out after only one semester. In 1974, Jobs moved back to California before embarking on a spiritual journey to India. Not long after returning to California, Jobs and Steve Wozniak founded Apple Computers.
