The Steve Jobs Keynotes are usually highly anticipated speeches that take place at Apple events throughout the year. Sometimes referred to as the "Stevenote," these events typically include announcements of new products or upgrades from Apple. Jobs also delivered keynote speeches at the MacWorld Conferences from 1997 through 2008.
The End of an Era
On December 16, 2008, it was confirmed that the 2008 MacWorld Conference and Expo would be the company's last such event. It was also revealed that, contrary to tradition, Steve Jobs would not be delivering the keynote speech. These announcements once again sparked rumors that Jobs was in poor health, which had abounded in the latter half of 2008. Apple representatives maintained that Jobs was in good health and that Jobs and the company were bringing an end to MacWorld was because they felt that expo no longer justified the extensive investment it required.Gizmodo: Steve Jobs Skipping Final Macworld Apple Keynote (December 16, 2008) Tech Check (CNBC): Apple's Jobs is (Still) Fine (December 30, 2008)
