Breaston attended Woodland Hills (North Braddock, Pennsylvania) High School and lettered three times in football, leading the team to a 14-1 record and to a berth in the Pennsylvania 4A state championship game as a quarterback. Breaston played in 15 games in 2009, starting six for the Cardinals. Breaston became the first Cardinals rookie with a punt return for a touchdown since Vai Sikahema in 1986.
