Steve Branchflower is a retired state prosecutor for Alaska, who has been hired by the Alaska legislature to lead the investigation into allegations of wrongdoing by Governor Sarah Palin's office in the firing of Walt Monegan.
Branchflower is investigating whether former Public Safety Commissioner Monegan was pressured by the governor's office to fire trooper Mike Wooten and was then fired himself for not doing so.
