Before Microsoft
Prior to working at Microsoft Ballmer was a manager at Procter & Gamble where he worked with the current CEO of the General Electric Company, Jeffrey R. Immelt. Ballmer joined Microsoft in 1980, after dropping out of Stanford University's MBA program. He held an array of positions at the company before being named the president in 1998. Two years later he was named the CEO of the organization, giving him full management oversight of the company.
