The Stern Fan Network is a website where fans of Howard Stern can interact with other fans and discuss Stern's radio program. It is not sponsored by Howard Stern or his show's producers, but it is nonetheless the largest online community of Stern fans and listeners. On April 10, 2008, comedian and long-time Howard Stern Show personality Artie Lange announced that he would be leaving the show. The subsequent traffic to the Stern Fan Network overloaded the site and caused it to go offline for a brief period of time with inconsistent responsiveness afterward.
