  • Explanations

Many pundits saw the webcasts, though initially humorous, as a cry for help, and a reflection of the personal struggles Marbury has gone through in his life.http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=jackson/090729&sportCat=nba Marbury, a member of the New York Knicks team coached by Isiah Thomas, had been accused during Thomas' sexual harassment trial of assaulting an intern (though the intern later admitted that the sex, outside of Marbury's marriage, was consensual). Thomas was later found guilty.

Marbury also confessed to marijuana use during the livestream, leading some pundits and gossip sites to suggest that drugs may have been behind his strange behavior.http://www.tmz.com/tag/stephon+marbury/

Marbury later told TMZ that he made the 24 hour livestream because he wanted "positive TV." He also said that he ate Vaseline because he was trying to help his throat, as his voice was getting hoarse.http://www.tmz.com/tag/stephon+marbury/
