Stephen Paletta was the winner of the ABC reality show Oprah's Big Give. He was awarded a check by Oprah Winfrey for one million dollars during the show's finale on April 20, 2008.
Paletta is a graduate of Cornell University, with a degree in civil engineering. He is a real estate developer, and the CEO of Renaissance Integrated Solutions. Paletta says a 2004 trip he made to Rwanda changed his life. Since then, he has financially adopted ten African children, and founded the nonprofit group International Education Exchange.
Paletta competed against nine other contestants during the course of the show. Brandi Milloy and Cameron Johnson were the runners-up, and each was awarded a $100,000 check. The other contestants who were voted off were each given $30,000 each for their efforts.
