Stephen Jackson is a star basketball player for the Golden State Warriors. He and former Indiana teammate Ron Artest are infamous due to a 2004 brawl in Detroit that escalated into the stands.

Early Life
Stephen Jesse Jackson was born in Port Arthur, Texas, on April 5, 1978. He attended Lincoln High School and then Oak Hill Academy in Virginia. At Oak Hill he would earn All-American honors and would be the leading scorer of the McDonald's All-America game in 1996. Jackson was selected by the Phoenix Suns in the 1997 NBA draft, but failed to make the team. He would make stops in the Continental Basketballl Association and Australia's Basketball league.Pro Career
In 2000, after playing professionally in Venezuela and the Dominican Republic, Jackson would land with the New Jersey Nets, where he established himself as a valued member of the rotation. He would later sign in 2001 with the San Antonio Spurs, and in 2003 would help lead the Spurs to the NBA Championship. Jackson would then sign with the Atlanta Hawks where he established himself as a legitimate star in the league. He was traded in 2004 to the Indiana Pacers after signing a six-year $38.3 million contract.On November 19, 2004, Ron Artest became involved in a brawl which carried over into the stands and fans. For Jackson's participation in the brawl he would be suspended for 30 games from the NBA. In 2007, following off the court legal issues the Pacers would trade Jackson to the Golden State Warriors with Al Harrington, Sarunas Jasikevicius and Josh Powell for Mike Dunleavy, Troy Murphy, Ike Diogu and Keith McLeod. In 2007, he would help lead the Warriors over the #1 seeded Dallas Mavericks in the first round of the playoffs.
