• Comedian and satirist Stephen Colbert hosts a nightly comedy and talk show called The Colbert Report, a spin-off of The Daily Show, where he used to be a correspondent. On his show, Colbert plays the role of a high-brow, right-wing bloviator, modeled after the persona of Fox News commentator Bill O'Reilly.

  • The Real Stephen Colbert

    After leaving Second City, Colbert worked with Amy Sedaris and Paul Dinello on the sketch comedy show Exit 57. Colbert was hired as a temporary correspondent on The Daily Show in 1997 and co-developed Strangers with Candy for Comedy Central in 1998.

    Colbert became known on The Daily Show for his acerbic wit and the recurring segment "This Week in God." The Colbert Report premiered on October 17, 2005. The success of the show inspired Colbert's invitation to host the 2006 White House Correspondents' Association Dinner, the video of which has become famous for Colbert's lampooning of The Bush Administration.
