Startup School

Member Note

Started in 2005 by Paul Graham in conjunction with Harvard Computer Society, Startup School is an annual un-conference where like-minded hackers and entrepreneurs from technical backgrounds gather to spend a day learning about business from speakers such as Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, Caterina Fake and Marc Andreessen.

How it Works

The conference is organized by YCombinator and Stanford University's BASES organization. The speakers at startup school are often the same ones that speak to startups in YCombinator. The event is absent of formalities of traditional conferences and encourages a high-energy atmosphere. The event not only brings stellar speakers but also allows aspiring entrepreneurs to network with possible co-founders and discuss their projects. For those who are unable to attend, the event is recorded and podcasted for free.
