Starting Out In The Evening is a drama film based on the critically acclaimed novel by author Brian Morton. An ambitious graduate student convinces a once-great novelist she can resurrect his career with her thesis.
Star Frank Langella was nominated for a Independent Spirit Award for his portrayal of Leonard Schiller a once prolific and brilliant author who has been stuck on his last novel for decades. Lauren Ambrose plays the graduate student who yearns to make her own mark on the world, and Lili Taylor rounds out the cast as Schiller's estranged daughter.
