Stars of Track and Field is an indie-pop band from Oregon that released their debut album in 2003. Their music is characterized by slower paced instrumentals paired with often bittersweet lyrics and melodies. When their bassist left the band around 2005, the band decided to replace him with electronic production techniques. Band members have stated that the decision allowed them to incorporate elements of their favorite electronic music groups into their own material.
