J.J. Abrams' Star Trek movie aired a commercial during the 2009 Super Bowl. Approximately 100 million viewers were expected to watch Super Bowl XLIII and each 30 second commercial spot came with an estimated $3 million price tag. Paramount Pictures, the studio behind Star Trek, also purchased air time for two more of their 2009 films, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and G.I.
