Skill Points
One of the rewards for completing side quests in Star Ocean: The Last Hope is party skill points. There are a variety of different types of skill points in the game, and each character has individualistic skills that will help the be more efficient at carrying out certain tasks. As the characters level-up, they can spend their earned skill points to level up their individual skills, making each member unique in what he or she can contribute to overall group. The different types of skill points are as follows:
1. Battle Skills: refers to each character's killer moves and symbology
2. Battle Set Skills: refers to skills the player can set before entering battle to give them an advantage, such as helping to strengthen or speed their characters
3. Action Skills: refers to special skills that can be used during battle, such as obtaining enemy data or convincing enemies to attack a certain target
